The program will discuss EMDR Therapy utilized with those suffering with complex disorders such as Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Personality Disorders, Self-Harm behaviors, and Chronic Suicidality. The program will provide guidance in assessment, case conceptualization and treatment planning for mixed presentations and co-occurring issues. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the nature of Complex Disorders and how they relate to trauma processing with EMDR Psychotherapy

• Apply techniques to appropriately prepare a client with a complex disorder for EMDR in a way that reduces risk of patient harm
  
• Demonstrate understanding regarding case conceptualization, diagnosing, treatment planning and target sequencing for clients with complex disorders, including when co-occurring disorders exist
