EMDR With
Addictive Disorders

The program will discuss EMDR Therapy utilized with those suffering with addictive disorders, outlining case conceptualization and target sequencing with substance use disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, and love/sex addiction. The program will provide guidance in treatment planning for these issues and also provide insight into treatment planning for co-occurring addictive disorders.

About this training

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the role of affect tolerance, stabilization and relapse prevention when working with addictive disorders
  • Demonstrate understanding regarding case conceptualization, treatment planning and target sequencing for clients with addictive disorders, including when co-occurring addictive disorders exist
  • Recognize established EMDR Psychotherapy resources beneficial for those suffering with addiction.

Learning Objectives

Participants are only eligible to participate in this training if you are a licensed professional able to practice psychotherapy and have completed an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training. Participants will be required to submit proof that they have completed their EMDR Basic Training prior to this training's start date.​ Verification may be emailed to training@lkinstitute.com.

Prerequisites

LK Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7464. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. LK Institute is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

LK Institute is an EC Provider (#19005) and this program (#19005-DL16) is approved for 16 EMDRIA Credits. Eligibility for EMDRIA Credits is restricted to those who have completed an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training.​
Participants must attend the training in full to receive the continuing education credits. Participants will not receive partial credit for partial attendance.
