EMDR BASIC TRAINING
EMDR BASIC TRAINING
We like to keep the EMDR Basic Training limited to ten people. We believe that this creates a safe environment to learn and experience the EMDR process. It also ensures close supervision during the practicum process to ensure that each participant is really grasping the protocol.
This EMDR International Association-Approved Training is held over two 3-day weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm). Additionally, a total of 10 hours of group consultation is required to assist in the integration of the training material into practice. These 10 hours are included in the price of the training.
Participants will learn via lecture, video, demonstrations, Q and A sessions, role play demonstrations, small group exercises and supervised practice sessions. Each participant will experience EMDR as both clinician and client through two practice sessions each weekend. These practice sessions are facilitated by members of the training staff. This EMDRIA Approved Training is facilitated by Lauren Day, an Advanced Education Institute Trainer.

EMDR PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS
Between Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 and then over the months following Weekend 2, group consultations sessions will be scheduled to assist in the integration of EMDR into clinical work. It is required that trainees take the skills learned in both weekends and begin to actively use EMDR. That work is then brought to consultation for review and support. Trainees may not participate in consultation sessions without having work to present and completion of the consultation sessions is required to complete this EMDR Therapy Training.
10 hours of individual or group consultation is required to complete the EMDR Basic Training. The training staff provides consultation in small group settings via teleconferencing following Weekend 1 and continuing in the months following Weekend 2 held on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings.

We attempt to keep training costs as low as possible because of our belief in the power of EMDR Therapy and our vision of equipping as many clinicians as possible to use it. Currently, we do not offer Continuing Education credits for all eligible training participants, and therefore do not include the price we pay for CEs in the registration fee. However, we do offer credit for NBCC practitioners at an additional cost for those who are interested. EMDR Basic Training consists of 40 clock hours of continuing education for Professional Counselors (LAC, LPC), Marriage and Family Therapists (LAMFT, LMFT), Social Work Counselors (LMSW, LCSW) and Substance Abuse Counselors (LASAC, LISAC). The cost of these 40 CE hours is $200. Please contact our office via email or phone to indicate if you would like to obtain these credits.
